It has been a week...my projected upcoming blog posts I had planned took me on an unexpected journey. Stay tuned...that post will be coming up this weekend...
Soooooooooooooo...for today, I'm going to post an easy peasy ~~ five facts for Friday post ~~ as instigated (yes, instigated) by Xanthe and Kim.
1. I have an aversion to fruit. (aversion - a strong feeling of dislike, opposition, repugnance, or antipathy)...Ever since I was a child, it has been like a texture thing...mushy, gushy, oh no ~~ seeds...or you hit a bruised, soft spot on something that should be crisp. Okay...I confess I did like to eat canned pear halves until 5th grade. You remember the movie they showed in school...the boys go down to the gym...and the girls see the movie about getting their period. Well...guess what...all those diagrams of a uterus looked like canned pear halves...and it was over for me!
And that includes things made with fruit...
2. I take too many photos of old country barns...
but honestly can anyone really have too many barn photographs?
3. I won the Saved by the Belt award in 1995!!! The saved by the belt program recognizes persons whose lives were saved, or who were spared serious injury, due to their good judgment in wearing seat belts. Ohio Highway Patrol Troopers investigating traffic crashes recommend candidates for the award.
4. I LOVE American history...I mean REALLY LOVE American history...
5. If cake is available...stick a fork in me...I'm done! I'm crazy about cake (unless it has fruit in it...obviously).
Not sure if you learned anything new here about me, or if you did, it was anything you wanted to know...but thanks for indulging me! More to come in the days ahead...
With gratitude,
Denise I love reading your posts it always makes me smile. I to love history any history. I trained as a history teacher and worry that the next generation won't appreciate where they come from . Your barns are fantastic ....... Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteGreat post Denise! #1) You can NEVER have too many photos of old barns. That's my wanna-do project! and #2) I'm right there with ya on the cake! But I wouldn't mind even if there were fruit in it! LOL Thanks for stopping by my blog too!
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely can not have too many barns. I have been photographing the last of the barns here. It can be a slow death, but in the last 10 years many have fallen. They are replaced by metal barns, and metal barns just do not make it. Thanks for coming to my blog.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and I agree, you can't have too many old barn photos! And I don't think I've ever met anyone who has such a strong aversion to fruit.....at least you are able to photograph it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your wit!
ReplyDeletebig smiles.... beautiful barn photos...and fun facts....
ReplyDeletethanks for playing lovely.... xo, Kim
What a delightful post! You have inspired me. And I love your barn photos.
ReplyDeleteNo Denise ... there are never enough photos old barns ... love your pics.

I'm enjoying your blog. I love fruit, but totally agree on the mushy texture (or a mealy apple) UGH! Thanks for visiting my blog as well. I appreciate your comments.
ReplyDeleteUmm I love coconut cake too!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your barn photos (wow!). I like fruit (and cake), but I get the fruit ‘texture’ thing {smile}.
ReplyDeleteYour Five Facts made me smile - I don't think I've ever heard of someone who doesn't like fruit - you're very unique! lol (it's usually vegetables!) And I'm with you on the cake...if there's a cake in the house, I'm in trouble. Thanks so much for sharing your five things! :)
